Personal coaching in Dublin helps unlock potential and overcome challenges.

My Story

I didn’t start out as a psychotherapist. For a number of years I worked in the corporate world as an HR consultant, and later I trained as a life coach. I was always interested in people at work. Their ideas, their ambitions, and those moments when someone would talk about what they really wanted, even if only briefly.

In HR, I often found I could see potential in people quite clearly. Sometimes it was obvious in how they thought or how they approached problems. Other times it was quieter than that, just a sense that someone had more to give, or wanted to do things differently, but wasn’t quite able to in there current position. I found that part of the work really meaningful.

At the same time, I also became aware of the limits of my role. I could support development, I could have the right conversations, I could encourage people, but I wasn’t always in a position to really help them fully step into their potential in the way I felt they needed. There were quite a few moments where I would leave a meeting thinking there was more there, but not enough space or structure to really work with it.

Training as a life coach added to that. It gave me more tools to listen properly and to help people think more clearly about where they were going. I became more focused on helping people slow down a bit and notice what they actually wanted, rather than just what was expected of them.

Eventually I retrained as a psychotherapist. It felt like a natural shift rather than a big change.

What I do now still feels connected to all of that. I’m still interested in potential, and in helping people understand themselves better. The difference is there is more time and space to do that properly, without rushing it or squeezing it into a short conversation.

I still think people often have more in them than they realise. My work now is really about helping them get a bit closer to that, in a way that feels steady and real for them.
