What to Expect From Therapy

Therapy isn’t a quick fix but an ongoing process of getting to know yourself and your patterns more clearly. We use an integrative approach, drawing from different methods to suit what works best for you.

At first, you’ll likely talk through your history and what brought you there. It’s normal not to know where to start.

Over time, sessions focus more on your goals—whether that’s managing anxiety, improving relationships, or processing past experiences. A therapist helps turn broad concerns into something you can work with, often alongside practical tools.

It can bring both insight and discomfort. You may notice patterns like avoidance or self-criticism more clearly, which can feel challenging, but also useful for change.

Progress isn’t linear—some sessions feel helpful, others less so. Change often shows up outside the room in small shifts in how you think or react.

Therapy is confidential within legal limits, and it should feel collaborative. You can question things or say if it isn’t working; the fit with the therapist matters.

Face to Face & Online Therapy

Face to Face

Online Therapy

Online Therapy

In-person therapy offers a direct human connection that many people find grounding and supportive. Being in the same room as a therapist allows for richer non-verbal communication, such as body language, facial expressions, and tone, which can help the therapist better understand how a client is feeling. The physical setting can also create a clear boundary between everyday life and “therapy time,” which can make it easier for some people to focus and open up. For others, simply being in a dedicated, private space away from home distractions can help them feel more contained and secure.

Face-to-face sessions can also be especially helpful for people dealing with more complex or severe mental health concerns, where in-person observation and immediate support may be beneficial.

Online Therapy

Online therapy offers flexibility and accessibility, making it easier for people to get support regardless of location, mobility, or busy schedules. It can remove practical barriers like travel time, childcare, or living in areas with limited access to therapists. Many people also feel more comfortable opening up from their own environment, which can reduce anxiety and make it easier to talk about difficult topics.

It can also be more consistent, since sessions are less likely to be missed due to travel or logistics.
